Great America with Chris & Mommy

Last Monday I took Chris to Great America for the first time. He kept asking what park we were going to and if they had a pool there. He was super excited when we walked in and saw the giant fountain by the carousal. He looked at me with a huge smile and said, "Mommy is that a jump in pool" I had to laugh. He was a lot more excited when he actually saw the water park that we went too after a few hours of rides. They day was a blast, Chris and his friends loved being able to go from ride to ride and go on their own. After we were officially hot, we headed to the water park where Chris, Sydney, Brooke and Carly all loved being int he pool. Us moms enjoyed cooling off too. This will definitely be a place we visit again.

Finally Friends

Well after some getting used top each other, Sierra and Aron are finally friends! This will make play time in the yard a lot more fun for all parties involved now.

Some classic pictures

Chris is a HUGE fan of swim goggles.
Dani just soaking in the sun during a day at the pool!
Chris and Caleb look stunning in their goggles. If you look closely though, Chris is wearing Cinderella ones and Caleb is sporting the Ariel ones....all thanks to the Kundert gals. I think this picture may come back to haunt them around high school.

Our adventure to the city!

Last Saturday I finally had a whole day off so we decided to go on a little family adventure. My mom goes down to the Farmer's Market at the Ferry Building in SF every Saturday morning (for those that have never been, I highly recommend it.....nothing beats it). We have gone before to meet her with the kids, but this time we thought we woudl add a little kick to it. We did our part for the earth that day and took full advantage of all forms of public transportation. The kids had their first ferry ride from Jack London Square to AT&T park. We were suppose to take the ferry straight into the Ferry Building, but we missed it due to a really long line, who knew so many people had the same idea as us. Thankfully it was a game day so caught hat ferry a few minutes later. Chris really enjoyed being on the boat, running around and looking at all the sailboats in the water. It turned out to be a good thing going into the ball park, we were then able to hope on Muni and take that down the Embarcadero to the Farmers Market. Chris loved the train. We picked a beautiful day to be in the city, walk thru the market and enjoy a great lunch. Chris was able to get a balloon monkey at lunch, and that was a highlight. The ferry back was leaving from Pier 41....thus another opportunity for more public transportation. We road on a very crowded street car down to Pier 41 to barley catch the ferry back. The kids were beat at this point so it was a very long ride home. All in all they had a great time. I do have to say I DON'T recommend changing a diaper on a bumpy ferry...not a pretty scene.

Fourth of July in Tahoe

The Fourth of July has always been a favorite of mine. Growing up the holiday was spent on Donner Lake with friends and family enjoying the sun, water skiing, Truckee parade and watching the fireworks from the railroad tracks. We continued this tradition all through high school and college with all our friends. Many of good time and crazy memories were made up there. It was so fun to enjoy that again with my kids this year. Bryan had to work all week so I went up to Donner with Eric & Krista Benson and their girls. We spent some time with another girlfriend from high school, Cat, and her family on the lake one night. The kids went on the wave runners and the boat. Chris LOVED the wave runner, I don't think he stopped laughing the whole time.....Dani was not a fan of the lifevest Truckee had their annual parade complete with hula dancers, the Bernese mountain dogs, fire trucks and the used Subaru club (only in Truckee). That night we went down to the lake again to Eric's parents house to BBQ, go out on the lake, enjoy a great sunset and then watch the fireworks from the deck. Chris got a kick out of Uncle Brad letting off bottle rockets from the deck (I liked that he was in his CDF fire shirt doing it). All in all we had a great few days up there, although it would have been great have Bryan up there.Ready for their boat ride....Dani LOVED the life vestNoah and Hailey were a lot happieer about the life vests sitting with Cat

Chris's last day of school

On June 20th Chris had his last day of school. He was so lucky to have been at a great school with two amazing teachers, Miss Julie and Miss JoDee. Chris has perfected the alphabet, numbers, learning to write, colors and shapes. Both he and I are looking forward to the 4-year old class next year with three days a week. On the last day of school they performed some songs for the parents, did one last final craft and then went in the backward to play in the pools and on the slip and slide.

Hugs from Miss Julie
Patiently waiting to go out and play in the pool.
Loving the ice cream!

Yosemite with the girls

So I have lived in California for 30 years now....you would think I have been to Yosemite. Nope! So a few girls and I packed our things and headed to the hills for a few days to relax, regroup and get refreshed being in God's beautiful creation. Yosemite lived up to all it's rave reviews...and we had a great time with the girls.
